We joined a tour in Tai Kwun, a community of HK’s arts, culture and heritage which includes the former Central Police Station, Central Police Magistracy and Victoria Prison.
These three Declared Monuments become the historic sites, particularly to Vietnamese tourists since Ho Chi Minh was once retained in one of the prison cells for a period of thee months long, long time ago!
The tour includes Peak Tram which quite a few tourists believe it is a truly experience the beauty of HK’s natural wonders. According to some sources, tens of millions of people from the globe have taken the ride.
Last leg of the tour, we visit the Central Market with various colors of the past and present. Old and new ways of living represent here with shops including Euopean & American merchandises for customers to buy or just “window shopping”!
Our guide is a middle-aged Chinese woman speaking both Chinese & English… Tourists seem to enjoy her guide with some hilarious comments and curious history details.
The tour, as a whole, is a quite an experience but somewhat tiring for an aged tourist like me!
